I was Wrong… Again!

A man ought to be able, not only to accept being wrong, but to admit when he has been. So… I was wrong.

I can hear the gasps of many as they contemplate these words. I’m not known as one who appears to possess humility; but truly, I freely admit my limited understand of all things “man”. It’s just that people rarely listen when I do.

So here goes, I’m putting it down in writing, no listening required (drum roll please), I was wrong: on May 15, 2015! It didn’t really take this long for me to realize my error; I just haven’t thought to admit it, here, before now. At that time, I wrote of the foolishness of those in support of then candidate for American President, Donald Trump.

In my defense, much of what I wrote was correct, and even today he clearly exhibits many of the traits I decried, but I was hugely incorrect in at least this one thing; President Donald Trump IS a man of character and honor. He has done more for the good of this country, in spite of the unprecedented, mindless, evil, obsessive opposition of the Demoncrat party, than any President in my lifetime.

You can disagree, you have that right (at least until the next Demoncrat is elected to the office), but if he has done nothing else, he has at least been the catalyst to the unveiling of the true character, intent, and purposes of the prevailing political mindset of all of our legislative body. Republicans and Demoncrats alike had to show their true colors, and decide their true allegiances, in clear view of their constituencies, in the face of the boldness and unrelenting drive of this one man.

Does he speak his mind? Yes, and I was wrong about this also. He’s not doing so simply to tell his people what he thinks they want to hear. In fact, much of what he says is hard to stomach.  He appears, at first blush, the schoolyard bully, and this I credit entirely to the completely biased reporting of all of America’s news media. When, on that rare occasion, we see the entire exchange between President Trump and any of those who oppose him, we then see that he is responding to their assault, rather than attacking them unprovoked. And who can stand before this man’s blistering response? Don’t take a swing at Donald Trump without first considering his unequaled ability to hit back.  He doesn’t take abuse lightly. He’s not the bully. He is instead, the man who will defend himself, his family, and his country, and will do so with overwhelming, unrepentant power.

When America finally closes its ears to the whining, wheedling cries of the career politicians who have for decades misrepresented the interests of their constituents, and have sought the power and privilege of royalty at this country’s expense, and the equally staged horror of the sycophantic media who support them, and begins to realize that this one man has given up the power, prestige, and position that his wealth had earned him, and has done so solely in response to the call of his vision for this nation, then we may finally be on the road to recovering what our founding fathers set in motion when they crafted that miraculous document, the Constitution of the United States of America.
